Role:
Transport Supervisor - Swindon

We are looking for a Transport Supervisor to be based on our customer's site in Swindon, who will oversee our 2 man delivery operation.

The ideal candidate will be customer-focused ensuring all the client's needs are efficiently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient planning of customer deliveries to meet customer requirements
  • Dealing with any customer account issues including complaints
  • Pre-brief and de-brief drivers
  • Problem solving for any drivers out on the road delivering
  • Monitor driver compliance and review Tachograph Infringement reporting, ensuring sign off and corrective actions
  • Ensure Company policies and procedures are adhered to, report/escalate issues as required
  • Driver induction and training
  • Processing of drivers wages and holiday requests
  • Manage the resources available effectively

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience dealing with customers demands
  • Strong communication skills
  • Transport planning
  • IT literate
  • Experience of fleet management and drivers' hours
  • Problem solving
  • Excellent team player but able to work on own initiative
  • CPC an advantage but not essential

Role:
General Manager - Manchester

The Green Group is a General Haulage, Warehousing and Pallet Network business with various locations in the UK, we are looking to recruit a General Manager to run our 2 sites located at Trafford Park, Manchester.

As the General Manager you will be required to manage mainly the Warehousing Operation but will work closely with the Regional Transport Manager and provide support and cover in their absence.

Our business works in a fast paced environment and ensure we provide a dedicated service to our customers.

Summary of Position:

  • You will have full responsibility for the day to day management of the Warehousing operation and associated duties within the Transport function
  • As General Manager you will be a strong leader, encourage team work and lead by example, recruiting, training, disciplining and the appraisals of managers
  • You will work closely with the board, our customers and suppliers and will be responsible for developing, planning and the execution of our strategic aims and objectives
  • You will have the skills to allow you to be customer facing as well as operationally focused, having the responsibility to maintain and develop long term relationships with both new and existing customers
  • You will manage budgets, monitor and drive service levels, supplier and cost management, providing weekly KPI’s and financial performance reports
  • You will identify and implement operational improvements and efficiency measures
  • Ensure the business is legally compliant with H&S, ISO9001, 140001, 18001, BRC and HACCP standards and assisting with O’licence compliance
  • Occasional commutes to our Head Office

Skills & Experience:

  • A proven track record of operating in a warehousing and transport background, ideally 3PL and FMCG
  • Experience of supervising / managing a team
  • A strong work ethic coupled with the ability to operate effectively
  • Have the ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and people management skills
  • Ideally hold a National/International CPC holder
  • Experience of H&S and compliance

Role:
Transport General Manager - Maltby

The Green Group is a General Haulage, Warehousing and Pallet Network business with various locations in the UK, we are looking to add the position of Transport General Manager to our team.

As the Transport General Manager you will be required to manage and support your team in a fast paced transport department, ensuring the operation provides a dedicated service to our customers.

Summary of Position:

  • You have full responsibility for the day to day management of the transport department and operations
  • As Transport General Manager you will be a strong leader, encourage team work and lead by example
  • Develop staff, provide training and control discipline, adhere to company rules, policies and procedures
  • You will have the skills to allow you to be customer facing as well as operationally focused, you have the responsibility to maintain and develop long term relationships with both new and existing customers
  • You will work closely with the board, our customers and our suppliers and will be responsible for developing, planning and the operational execution of our strategic moves and goals
  • You will manage budgets, monitor and drive service levels, supplier and cost management, providing weekly KPI’s and financial performance reports
  • You will identify and implement operational improvements and efficiency measures
  • Ensure the business is legally compliant with H&S, transport and environmental legislation
  • Support in the purchase of vehicles and trailers and oversee the compliance of the company’s O’licence as well as being named on the Operator’s Licence.
  • Working to the standards of BRC, ISO9001 and 140001, 18001 accreditation and FORS.

Skills & Experience:

  • A proven track record of operating in a transport background, ideally 3PL and FMCG
