Job Description:
We are looking to recruit Transport Planners to work on our General Haulage fleet, based at our Head Office site, Maltby. You will join a busy transport team that provides excellent dedicated service to our customers ensuring routes are planned accurately and efficiently.

The role will involve:-

  • Cost effective planning of vehicles to meet customer load plans
  • Informing drivers of their loads/collections
  • Daily communication with the booking team on new collections and deliveries
  • Monitoring and managing loads to ensure delivery schedules are met
  • Managing and ensuring adequate resource is available i.e drivers, vehicles, trailers
  • All legal requirements are met including drivers hours and tachograph requirements
  • Liaison with drivers and managing discipline
  • Full communication with other planners, de-briefers and management
  • Ensuring data that is input on our traffic management system, Truck Com is of an high standard and accurate
  • Building excellent relationship with customers
  • Working with other transport companies organising back loads

Candidates will need to demonstrate the right attitude, willingness to learn and be able to provide excellent customer service. Have exceptional organisational skills, similar vehicle route planning experience within the logistics industry, ideally general haulage. Be able to work under pressure and hit deadlines. Have knowledge of driver’s hour’s regulations and WTD. An International CPC would be desirable. The position will be 45 hours per week, Mon to Fri - flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business during busy periods. Saturday working is required on a rota, hours worked are paid in addition to the annual salary. Salary Circa £25k dependant on experience

Job Description:
We are looking to recruit a Transport Co-ordinator at our Head Office based in Maltby, Rotherham, working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 6pm to 6am. The transport office is very busy, therefore we need people who are happy to work in a fast paced environment and can work under pressure. Provide dedicated customer service, have initiative and worked within General Haulage.

Duties will involve:

  • Ensure drivers have been pre-briefed at start of their shift
  • Ensure all drivers are in the correct uniform
  • Ensure drivers are equipped with the correct PPE and are provided with all equipment applicable to their role. Also, they are trained to use the Company’s Truckcom mobile tablet
  • De–brief drivers at the end of their shift, ensure Tacho cards are downloaded, paperwork filled in correctly and folders are complete
  • Check Pods throughout the shift and ensure all information is scanned and captured
  • Scan and check POD’s when necessary and retrain drivers on their responsibilities if required
  • Ensure any goods returned are checked, logged and dealt with as per customer requirements
  • Ensure Drivers infringements are captured daily and ensure infringements are de-briefed
  • Defect reports are monitored daily with any issues raised and dealt with in a quick and timely manner, investigate damage on trailers and tractor units
  • Damage and accident reports are completed and investigated in a timely manner
  • Trailer service dates are adhered to
  • Communicate with the Garage to ensure all trailer servicing is up to date and complete
  • General administration duties as required by Transport Manager
  • Oversee all deliveries to ensure they are on time and progress chase drivers
  • Maintain compliance of all company policies and procedures

Candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of driver hours and legislation on road transport regulations as well as an extensive geographical knowledge of the UK. Previous experience in General Haulage is preferred. You should be computer literate and preferably experienced with transport management systems. Be able to work on your own initiative, cope with pressurised situations and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
