Job Description:
The Green Group is a General Haulage and Warehousing business and we are looking to recruit a Transport Debrief Clerk working Nights to join on our General Haulage fleet, based at our Head Office site, Maltby.

Shift pattern is 4 on, 3 off. 18:00 - 06:00.

You will join a busy transport team that provides excellent dedicated service to our customers ensuring routes are planned accurately and efficiently.

The role will involve:-

  • Ensure all drivers are fully debriefed at start of their shift and issued with a complete vehicle folder pack
  • Check all drivers are in correct uniform and equipped with PPE
  • Train drivers to use the Company Truckcom mobile tablet
  • Ensure agency drivers receive full induction and SSOW are completed prior to starting work
  • Debrief drivers at the end of their shift, tacho cards are downloaded, paperwork is handed in, checked to be correct and vehicle folder returned complete
  • Driver infringements are captured during the shift and debriefed with the driver
  • Defect reports are monitored daily, any issues raised and dealt with in a timely manner, investigate new damage on equipment
  • Scan and check POD's ensure information is correct, update ATA / ATD
  • Filing of run sheets, fuel sheets and POD's
  • Produce run sheets, fuel sheets, weekly time sheets to maintain a good supply
  • Communicate with Planning Team for allocation of driver's next job / finish
  • Issue customer reports
  • Perimeter walk round checks, building and yard
  • Ensure customer goods/shot load returns are checked, logged, customer service and planning are informed by email for accountability/investigation
  • Damage and Accident reports completed as required, ensuring all information is captured
  • Call out for breakdown and tyres are recorded and completed, issue PO numbers when required - communicate with Customer Service and Planning Team, Fleet Compliance
  • Download vehicle units as required
  • Trailer Service and MOT dates are adhered to and equipment is located prior to service date, locked off and planning team informed, service and VOR boards are updated throughout the shift
  • Communicate with Fleet Compliance and Garage to ensure servicing is complete, update planning team
  • Communicate with Service Providers for collection of equipment for service, issue keys
  • Take delivery of Fuel/Ad Blue and ensure reciept is signed and processed
  • General administration duties as required
  • Driver progress chase and log any late delivery or failure on Truckcom, inform customers of late runners, ensure the petty cash is accounted for during your shift and checked prior to shift handover
  • Maintain compliance of H&S, ISO9001, 14001, 18001 policies and procedures
  • Ownership and responsibility for Accreditations and Audits inc. BRC, ISO, FORS ensuring relevant practices in place as part of standard operations

Candidates will need to demonstrate the right attitude, willingness to learn and be able to provide excellent customer service. Have exceptional organisational skills, have similar experience within the logistics industry, ideally general haulage. Be able to work under pressure and hit deadlines. Have knowledge of driver's hour's regulations and WTD.

Flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business during busy periods and holiday cover will be expected.

Job Description:
The Green Group is a General Haulage and Warehousing business, due to the growth of our Trafford Park site, we are expanding the Transport division to manage a fleet of 50 vehicles and looking to recruit Transport Operators.

Hours of work will be 6pm to 6am, on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

The role will involve:-

  • Supporting the Transport Planner with the effective management of fleet and drivers
  • Ensure drivers have been pre-briefed at start of their shift
  • Drivers are equipped with and are provided with all equipment applicable to their role. Trained to use the Company’s technology
  • Maintain the Company’s transport system (Truckcom) to monitor jobs, progress and keep on top of queries and ensure drivers are on track with their duties
  • Communicate with other members of the Transport Dept, Planning, Customer Services and Accounts team at Head Office
  • De–brief drivers at the end of their shift, ensure Tacho cards are downloaded, paperwork filled in correctly, folders are complete, POD’s scanned and vehicle standards are upheld
  • Scan and check POD’s when necessary and retrain drivers on their responsibilities if required
  • Check driver folders to ensure keys, mobile tablet and fuel cards are present and replenish all paperwork
  • Raise any non-conformances immediately to the relevant person and / or your Line manager
  • Support with managing driver infringement reports, ensure drivers are briefed and reports are signed off
  • Ensure any goods returned are checked, logged and dealt with as per customer requirements
  • Vehicle or trailer defects that are reported are dealt with appropriately
  • Facilitate a shift hand-over at the start and end of each shift
  • Monitoring of traffic on and off site and dealing with visitors to the site as and when required
  • General administration duties as required
  • Maintain compliance of H&S, ISO9001, 14001 and 18001, Policies and Procedures

Candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of driver hours and legislation on road transport regulations as well as an extensive geographical knowledge of the UK. Previous experience in General Haulage route planning is preferred. You should be computer literate and preferably experienced with transport management systems. Be able to work on your own initiative, cope with pressurised situations and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.

Salary c.£23,000.00 per annum depending on experience.
