Job Description:
The Green Group is a General Haulage, Pallet Network and Warehousing business that is expanding at a fast pace. We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner/Co-Ordinator based at our Leicester site. Our transport office environment is very busy, therefore we need people who are happy to be kept busy and can work under pressure.

Outline of Main Duties:

  • Cost effective planning of vehicles to meet customer load plan, ensuring empty mileage is minimised.
  • Ensure all legal requirements are met including drivers hours and tacho requirements
  • Ensure data input on the TMS (Truck Com) is at an high standard and accurate
  • Full communication with other Transport Planners to combine freight where possible
  • Manage high levels of customer service, working closely with bookings team
  • Work with other networks to obtain back loads
  • Ensure decisions are taken with full knowledge of the P&L implications to the business
  • Communicate issues of resource to the transport manager
  • Maintain compliance of H&S, ISO9001, 14001 and 18001, policies and procedures

Skills & Experience:

  • CPC would be desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of driver hours regulations
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Previous experience of planning within a Transport / logistics organisation Essential
  • Working in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements

Hours of Work: 45 hours per week, 5 shifts, with the occasional Saturday

Salary: £22-23k per annum Onsite parking, uniform, auto enrolment pension and life assurance are provided
