Job Description:
The Green Group is a General Haulage, Pallet Network and a Warehousing business that is looking to recruit an HGV Technician to work in our Workshop on site at our Head Office, Maltby. We currently have 150 vehicles and 200 trailers. Hours of work will be 12 hour shifts, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Role will involve to:

  • Maintain, inspect & repair vehicles and trailers.
  • Prepare, present and accompany all HGV vehicles for annual test.
  • Carry out periodic safety inspections to all HGV vehicles to DVSA standards and higher.
  • Attend breakdowns or accident damaged vehicles and carry out permanent or running repairs as required.
  • Ensure all relevant health & safety legislation is adhered to.
  • Paperwork – Must be kept up to date, make sure it’s completed and correctly filled out in a timely manner.
  • Update of records/defects via the workshop system.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping to keep all areas in a safe and clean condition.
  • Operate Fork Lift Trucks if required to do so if trained.
  • Keep within ISO standards ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO18001.
  • General servicing and fitting mechanics. Liaising with Head Management on workloads and time scales.
  • Time critical servicing – must carry out work in a prompt and professional manner to suit time frames.
  • Tools and equipment management – must keep and maintain tools provided by the company in an orderly fashion. Report any missing or damaged tools or equipment to Head Mechanic immediately.

Pallet Network Supervisor/Manager

Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Pallet Network Supervisor/Manager who will be responsible for running of our Pallet Network and Moffett fleet operation. Key responsibilities will be to ensure we meet our customer requirements whilst focusing on operational compliance and controlling costs.

Other responsibilities are as follows:

  • Management of our pallet network operation & groupage deliveries/collections
  • Ensure effective planning of the days work
  • Ensure equipment is serviced and maintained as scheduled
  • Ensure all drivers are fully pre briefed at start of their shift, fully equipped with PPE, uniform and are trained on how to use company issued devices.
  • Debrief drivers on return to the yard
  • Control of drivers equipment is monitored ensuring folders, keys and fuel cards are present
  • Produce KPI reports on service and costs daily
  • Monitoring jobs, progress chasing, ensure vehicles are on time, enter demurrage and maintain Truckcom system to service customer requirements
  • Keep our customers up to date with any delays & failed deliveries
  • Check inbound freight from the hub & discrep & take pictures
  • Carry out checks to ensure vehicles are clean inside/out
  • Returns arrange delivery back to the customer within 24 hours
  • Ensure Pallet Network TMS (Twine) is maintained
  • Maintain compliance of health & safety, ISO9001 and 14001, policies and procedures
  • Convert sales leads and manage the onboarding of new customers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous transport experience, preferably in a Pallet Network environment
  • Have strong customer service and management skills
  • Eye for detail and ability to produce KPIs
  • The ability to work under pressure and react well to changing circumstances
  • Be computer literate, well organised and disciplined
  • Have a full driving licence
  • Understanding of drivers hours and WTD regulations
  • National CPC preferred but not a necessity
